Elizabeth Cotton played a graceful, dignified fingerpicking style - with the guitar upside down and backwards. Although she never played a professional note until she reached her 60's, she caught the urban folk revival in stride and it gave her a 20-year career. She left us a true folk song classic in "Freight Train." Here, at McCabe's she was in her 80's.
